Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Annual Cover Model Contest?

Every contest winner will automatically be entered into the Annual Cover Model Contest. At the end of the year, our panel of judges will select a single child to be named as the Child Photo Magazine Cover Model to be featured in an upcoming issue. The winner will receive an offer for agent representation (granted they can travel to LA or NYC), a free professional photoshoot, a cash prize, their face on the cover of Child Photo Magazine, along with a full four-page spread in an upcoming issue for the entire world to see.

How are contests judged?

Contest Photos will be judged on a variety of criteria including, but not limited to, creativity, beauty, and energy. While artistic photographs that fit a contest theme are encouraged, the real focus is on your child and their face. Be sure to have your child's face unobstructed with your submission.

Our panel of judges consists of professional photographers, agents, casting directors, working child actors, and other industry professionals. Not all judges will judge each and every contest. Judges will continually rotate to provide different views of opinion. So definitely don't get discouraged if you don't win the first time.

Why do I need a Profile Photo?

Only the winning Contest Photos will be published in the following issue of Child Photo Magazine. However, every child that is submitted with a Profile Photo is guaranteed to have their Profile Photo published in the New Talent Photo Gallery inside the following issue of Child Photo Magazine. This ensures that each and every time you submit to one of our contests, no matter whether or not your Contest Photo wins, your child's Profile Photo will be published and seen by top Agents and Casting Directors.

Additionally, we will soon be launching an online Talent Discovery Service designed specificially for legitimate and verified Agents and Casting Directors who are seeking fresh new talent like your child. Your child's Profile Photo along with your contact information will be available in our secure database to help you and your child get discovered.

Your child's Profie Photo should be a clear, in-focus, and close-up photograph of your child's face.

Do I need professional headshots before I can submit?

Definitely not. Your child will eventually need headshots, but for now, all you need are nice photographs that you take from home. Be sure to check out our quarterly articles to learn tricks on taking the best photographs and download our app for easy to use camera guides on your mobile device.

What if I need to update my child's Profile Photo?

Simply enter another contest, if we already have your child's Profile Photo on file, we will replace it with the most current submission.

If my child does not win a contest, do I have to re-enter to be considered again?

No. Once you have entered a contest, your child will continue to be considered for all future contests in their age category for a full year. The only time you need to resubmit your child is if you want to update their submission with new and improved photos, or if you wish to submit to a special contest with an assigned theme.

How long will you keep and automatically resubmit my photos into the contests?

We will keep and automatically resubmit your photos into the contests for exactly one year. We will discard all photos after one year from their original submission. Because kids grow so fast and change so much, you won't really want us submitting pictures that no longer look like your child.

Is my contact information secure?

We collect your child's information along with your contact information for the sole purpose of helping your child become discovered. Information will be shared with legitimate and verified Agents and Casting Directors who wish to contact you regarding auditions or representation. We will never sell your information to a third party. Please view our Privacy Policy for details.

If you do not want your child's information and your contact information to be shared with Agents and Casting Directors through our Talent Discovery Service, simply do not submit a Profile Photo with your contest submission.

Can I submit my child if I do not reside in the United States?

Of course! Talent is not limited by International borders and neither are we. An Agent in the Unites States might love you, but so might an Agent located near your hometown. We look forward to this magazine serving both Talent and Agents around the world.
